Baby Cakes Elise

Little Elise is such a sweetheart.  She is such a a good baby, except during about 10 pm to 1 am when she often struggles.  Here are some photos from the last month or so.

Smiling in her sleep.
 Looks like she's whistling
Oops...I'm kind of a lame mom.
We caught a beautiful smile at 6 1/2 weeks.
She started really smiling about October 19.  I love it!
She gave me lots of birthday smiles two days later!

Our neighbor Rylee loves Elise!
 Ellie is such a beauty!
Julie crocheted Elise some sweet hats!  So funny!
A few days ago Elise had her two month check-up.  She's been growing!  Here are her stats:
Weight 9 lbs. 9 oz. (13%)
Height 21 1/4 in (8%)
Head 36 cm (4%)

Lucky Finds

We rediscovered the D.I. again recently.  We love it!  I bought Parker a new bike.  It's a 20 inch, 7 speed and it only cost $5!  It had a flat, so I had to spend another $5 on a new innertube, but $10 is pretty cheap for such happiness!  That made it possible for Jason to inherit Parker's Toy Story bike.
We found a bunch of dress ups for Liesel.  We bought a Cinderella outfit, a Tinkerbell skirt and head garland, a Sleeping beauty dress and another flowered skirt.  Altogether they cost only $8.
The Sleeping Beauty dress even lights up, ha, ha!
We also got a half-height bookshelf for $10.  It's in great condition and is perfect for our living room.  If you haven't been there lately, check out the beauty of goodwill shopping!

Baby Pumpkins

My Aunt Amber let my kids come pick some pumpkins from her garden this year.  The kids loved it!

I put out newspaper, gave the kids paint shirts and let them color their pumpkins with Sharpie markers.

Luckily that marker on Liesel's face is from her washable marker coloring beforehand, ha, ha!

Liesel Gracie Girl

Here are a bunch of random photos I've taken of Liesel over the past month.  Most of them were taken with my phone, so they aren't great quality.
Tea party with her dollies
 Looking lovely in red
Almost every day she wears the dress up shoes my Aunt Amber gave her for her birthday.
Wearing all of her new dress-ups simultaneously.
Liesel and our little friend Brielle

Liesel adores her little baby sister.

Every time she hears a female vocalist, she cheers and says, "prince-muss"  (princess)!
A few weeks ago I gave Liesel a haircut.  It looks fuller and more grown up.
We love our little princess!

Bat to the Head

Brad had double-header softball games yesterday.  They were later games, so we didn't come to watch.  When he walked in to the house at 10:15 pm, he held a bag of ice up to his head.  After we cleaned him up, this is what we saw.  He was the catcher for these games and on the very last play of the game, the batter threw the bat behind him as he ran to first base.  Unfortunately it slammed Brad in the face.  His glasses were bent, but luckily not broken.
Luckily he didn't need stitches or have a serious concussion, but he had quite the headache, of course.  This photo doesn't do it justice, but you can kind of see the shiner was sporting the next morning.
Brad's been such a good sport about it, but I think he'd rather not play catcher next week.
Update: These photos were taken two days later and show off his "smokey eye"... and he did play catcher the next week/
I have to add this one too, just because Brad is so handsome!
