Memories

I've seen this on a few of my friends blogs and it looks fun. I guess I'll find out if any of you even check my blog. Here's how to play: 1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If you don't have a blog, please comment as anonymous (but include your name). 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you..

Parker's funny faces

The other day during breakfast Parker was making a lot of funny faces, so I took a few pictures. He loves making people laugh. Another thing he loves is seeing pictures or videos of himself or others he knows well. He loves looking though our photo albums or watching home videos, especially of himself. The other day when we were at Brad's sisters, Parker and Isabelle were playing and having a great time, as always. Here is a cute picture of them.

Fun Holiday Week

Thursday was Pioneer Day, which is a holiday that commemorates the day the LDS pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. For Family Home Evening on Monday we learned more about the pioneers' trek to Utah and about the seagulls saving the pioneers' crops from the crickets. Parker loved the lesson and especially loved to march around the room while we sang the pioneer songs from the Primary songbook. Brad got Thursday off of work as a holiday and took Friday off too. We visited with family, had barbecues, went to see The Dark Night and just hung out together. The new Batman movie was extremely well done, but definitely dark. Batman just keeps getting cooler gadgets. On Saturday we went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake. It's not spectacular, but Parker loves it, so we have a season pass. Parker loves animals in general and sea life is no exception. That night we went to my grandma's and had a family party. My cousin was in town with his fiance, who I definitely approve of. Good choice, Greg. Julie, Scott, Heidi and Alison slept over at our house that night and came to church with us on Sunday. It's always fun to spend time with them! Here is a picture I took of the kids at my parents' house on Saturday. Heidi, Parker and Ali were all jumping on Grandma and Grandpa's bed and I asked them to lie down to take a picture.

North Shore

Today we went to the North Shore Aquatic Center that is less than two blocks from our house. It's really affordable since it's run by North Ogden City and we had a blast. Parker loved all of the slides and fountains, although he doesn't particularly like being splashed in the face. I don't blame him, I don't especially like it either. Brad had a great time on the big serpentine slide and we all enjoyed the lazy river. Parker was brave enough to go all by himself on the big yellow slide you can see in the background. He did it a few times, even though it's pretty fast for a two year old. It is a really fun water park and especially great for kids, even little ones like Parker. You can't even see in the pictures half of the slides, fountains or pools. There really is a lot to do there. If anyone wants to come up and go to the water park, we'd highly recommend it.

Catch Up

For the last month or so all I have posted was related to the baby or the move, but that isn't all that we have done. On June 21 we had a breakfast in the canyon with the Pratt family. We went up Millcreek Canyon, had dutch oven cooking and enjoyed the beautiful mountains. Here is Parker enjoying a s'more. June 22 was our wedding anniversary. I have been married for four wonderful years to my best friend and sweetheart, Bradley.

On the 4th of July we went to Grandma Carlson's. We swam in the pool, had a barbeque and the kids had a great time on the slide.

I don't think I've ever met anyone with a greater interest in games than Parker. His favorite past time is playing with board games, card games, etc. Whenever I shower, fold laundry or do anything else where I want him preoccupied, I let him choose a game to play. Here is a picture of him playing one of his favorite games.

Yesterday for Family Home Evening we decided to take Parker to the Ogden Temple. It is next door to Brad's work and we drive by it all the time. He always points out "Angel 'Onri", but we let him walk around the grounds.

Finally, our house is almost unpacked.

We moved into our house two and a half weeks ago and finally every room is unpacked, except one. The office/baby’s room has the office part pretty much done, but the rest of the room is stacked with over a dozen more boxes. I’ve decided that packing, unpacking and the related moving is thoroughly LAME. Avoid it if you can. I really like our new house, but putting stuff away isn’t exactly thrilling. It’s so nice to be nearly done. So, now that I’m actually done, I’ve taken some new pictures of the house to replace the ones from last week’s entry. A few of the pictures are the same though. I can't usually get a whole room in a picture, so I've had to take pictures from different angles. If you were to come inside our house from either the front door or the garage, you'd be in the living room.

Here is a picture of the kitchen and dining area. Here is a picture of the downstairs bathroom. Next to the kitchen table there is a sliding door that you can't really see. If you went outside you'd be on the back patio.

Off of the living room there is a staircase leading upstairs. Here are a few pictures of the hallway at the top of the stairs. That lower part at the end of the hall is the end of the staircase.

Parker's table is at the other end. We move it back and forth between the hallway and his room. In the hallway is a really spacious linen closet, which I really appreciate.

The first room in the hallway is Parker's. Here are some pictures of his room.

The next room in the hallway is the office/baby's room. I'll take a picture of the other side later. The upstairs bathroom is at the end of the hall. The last room upstairs is the master bedroom. The pictures that turned out best were the ones with the curtains closed, so that is why they are all drawn.

Here are some pictures taken of the front of our home.

So, there is the grand tour. I guess I didn't show you the laundry room, the pantry, the garage, the walk-in closet, etc., but if you want the complete tour, you'll have to come and visit.

We really would love visitors. We got new phone numbers, so if you didn't get them, send me an email or write me a comment.

We're having a Boy!!! -probably

We had an ultrasound last week and it's more than 90% sure that it's a boy. Our little baby was just not very cooperative. He kept its legs all scrunched up the whole time-I guess he's just a little shy. Even when the doctor tried to get him to move, he just bounced around like a little scrunched up ball. We would be excited either way. Parker and Babe #2 will have a great time playing together.
