Back to School

Brad and I are back in school. Brad is finishing his last semester of undergrad accounting at the U of U-third degree is the charm, right? He's excited to be done and is planning on his MAcc next year. The end is in sight- and only one year away. He is really looking forward to joining an accounting firm and working full-time. He's considering getting a full-time accounting job right after he gets his bachelors and working on his MBA in the evenings, so we'll see what ends up happening. I just started teaching again. I am teaching at Reid School. It's a private school that rotates for reading, math, and homeroom, so I'm teaching 2nd graders through seventh graders. Most of my students are in third grade. I am really enjoying it. I miss my old students, but I really like what I'm doing now too. Parker still gets to spend his days with his Grandmas. They are extremely generous to watch him so much, but luckily they enjoy it as well.

Parker's Cousins

Parker is lucky to have two cousins on each side. My sister has two little girls. Heidi turns three this month (August) and Alison is four and a half months younger than Parker, so she just turned one. Brad's twin sisters each have a child. Isabelle is only four months older than Parker, so they enjoy playing together. Adam was born last Easter, so right now he is about 4 1/2 months old. Parker loves spending time with his cousins! Bear Lake

Every year we get to go up to Bear Lake with Brad's family. It is a lot of fun! We rode on wave runners, played in the sand, and enjoyed time with the family. 2007 Vacations Slideshow

Family Reunion with Jen's Family

The Aldous reunion was held in Salt Lake city this year. My aunts, uncles and cousins came in from Virginia, Oregon and Wisconsin. Unfortunately the Louisiana and Russian family couldn't come. We hiked in Deer Valley, went to Old Deseret Village, and spent a lot of time at my aunt and uncles home. It was fun to see everyone!

Brad's London Trip

Brad's company, Goldman Sachs, sent him to London for about eleven days in July. While he was there he was able to see some of the sites. This photo is in front of Buckingham Palace. The Tour de France was in London while he was there, so he watched some of that too.

San Diego Vacation

We went to California in August. We stayed with Jen's brother Pete who is living in San Diego while he's in law school. We were able to go to Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, the beach and spend time with Peter. Parker loved the animals at Sea World and at the Zoo. We all had a great time on vacation!

Parker Loves Animals

One of Parker's joys in life is to be with animals. He loves petting zoos, animal books and his grandparents homes, where he can feed a doggie treats (and who knows what else) to the pets.

Jen's graduation

Jen graduated with her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Utah in June 2004. Brad graduated from the U of U in May 2006 with his B.A. in English and French. He is continuing on to get his accounting degree, which he'll get in December 2007.

Honeymooning in Mexico

We spent a week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for our honeymoon. We stayed at a great all-inclusive hotel with wonderful buffets and piña coladas that were available even in the pool. We went snorkeling and parasailing. It was wonderful!

Brad and Jen's Wedding

Brad proposed on March 12, 2004. Brad made me a delicious dinner and then read me a story he had written that was loosely based on our meeting and dating. At the end of the story the character Brad wrote a wonderful poem for Jen. Afterwards the story read, "And the story ends . . ." Then Brad gave me a wrapped present. Inside was a journal. Taped on it was a paper that read, "Do stories really end? Do they just up and die? Our story is one that will last forever. Here is the unwritten story of the rest of our lives TOGETHER!" The journal was embossed with the name Jennifer Aldous Pratt. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. As you can surmise, I said yes.
Brad and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. That evening we had a reception at Seven Oaks Reception Center. It was such a wonderful feeling to be sealed to my sweetheart for time and all eternity! Wedding Slideshow
