Bear Lake

Every year we look forward to going up to Bear Lake with all of the Carlson side of the family. In past years we have had me starting teaching and Brad in school, so we haven't made it up for the full week, but this time we went up the whole time. Here are a few highlights of our fun!
Parker had a great time playing in the sand. He didn't mean to eat it, but when you like to throw it, a little sand in the mouth is a natural side effect.
Parker loves playgrounds. He went to the playground anytime he could get anyone to go with him. He loves to swing especially. He tried to get everyone else to swing too. Besides the swings, he went down every slide, played on the merry-go-round, and squished his face onto the curved windows (that's mighty attractive, I must say.)
Luckily for us, Uncle Doug bought a new boat this year. So everyone had a great time tubing and water skiing (well, everyone but me). I enjoyed the boat rides though. Parker loved going fast and trying to touch the water spray when we turned.

Parker had so much fun up there, he played until he dropped. Everytime we put him down for a nap, he kept insisting, "Parker's awake! Parker's awake!" until he fell asleep. We really enjoyed just spending time together as an extended family. Parker loved hanging out with everyone and entertained us all. Unfortunately, not all of the family were able to come up. Jackie, Jake and Isabelle couldn't come up because on Wednesday little Isaac was born. I've seen pictures, but I can't wait to see my new nephew tomorrow. Brad's sister Janelle and his cousin Nizel couldn't make it, but happily everyone else was able to come up for at least a little while. Brad enjoyed the wave runners and even Parker got a short ride with his Daddy. I sat on just for a picture. Parker and I also got to spend time in the swimming pool. When we weren't boating, waverunning, swimming, or playing on the playground or beach, we played games of Yatzee, Mafia, night games, and watched the Olympics (which I love). Brad and I also got a chance to go golfing up at Bear Lake golf course and we all played mini-golf there at Ideal Beach where we stayed. Parker had the special job of retrieving the golf balls from the hole and even got to play a little himself. Brad's parents are very generous and always buy the grandchildren a stuffed animal from La Beau's. This year Parker got a little Alaskan Husky named Slush. Parker wanted him to try on his pajamas.

Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Carlson for arranging this reunion up at Bear Lake. We had a wonderful time.
