Day Camping

We didn't go camping this year, but we did have the chance to go up in the canyons four times in the last month. My parents were going camping last weekend and were kind enough to come up near us in Ogden so we could spend the day and evening up there. I took the boys up there in the early afternoon and found a spot at the Meadows Campground near Huntsville. While we were waiting for my parents to come, I took the boys a couple miles farther up the canyon to Causey Reservoir. This picture certainly doesn't do it justice; It's beautiful.
We were up there for a couple of hours before my parent's came, but we had fun anyway.

The boys loved looking for rocks, chipmunks and getting as dirty as can be.

We went to watch the tubers floating down the Ogden River. It looked really fun! Maybe we'll have to try it sometime when I'm not eight months pregnant alone with two little boys!

Parker and Jason had fun throwing sticks into the river.

When my parents came up they enjoyed helping set up the tent. They wanted to show Grandma and Grandpa all the things they had found. Also, they both loved helping Grandpa chop some firewood.

They loved playing with the shovel and rake as well.

Brad came up after work and joined us for the fun. For about twenty minutes it rained off and on right during dinner, so we ran to the cars to eat. My mom put on her rain jacket and roasted some marshmallows in the rain for s'mores. Luckily, the rain didn't last and it was sunny again soon. Here's a shot of the rainbow as the rain was ending.

Parker didn't want to leave so he hid behind the car. For a minute we were afraid he'd run off, so we were happy to find him.

Here are the boys with Grandma and Grandpa just before we left. Thanks for letting us come up in the canyon with you!
