My sister Julie had her fourth child in October and I've been dying to meet him. He turned a month old on Thursday, the night we arrived. Brad had been hoping he could make it down too, but he's been so overwhelmed with homework, it couldn't happen. He took Friday off of work, but spent almost all day studying and then woke up again on Saturday to do it again. The good news is that he's ahead. If he can spend one more all-day-study-Saturday, he should only have a couple hours of homework for the rest of his program...Hooray!
Anyway, I decided to invite my cousin Claire to come down. She's attending BYU, so she could drive most of the way with us. It was so much fun to have her along! I picked up Parker early from school on Thursday and we headed down to pick up Claire. We continued on to Las Vegas, only stopping twice, for dinner and gas. We arrived at Julie and Scott's at 8:55 p.m. Vegas time. We let the kids play for a few minutes and then shuffled them to bed. I was so excited to hold my adorable nephew Brandon!
The next day the kids got the chance to hold him too. Liesel wasn't quite sure what to think.
She pointed out his nose, but then she was done and wanted to go play.
Jason loves babies! He still doesn't have a long attention span, but he is the most interested of all my kids.
Parker with cute little Brandon.
Ali gave Liesel her birthday gift in "heavy hangover" style.
It was a really cute outfit, but of course Liesel was most excited about the tissue paper, ha, ha!
Parker and Jason enjoyed playing with their cousins...and with all their toys. Here they're playing with the Littlest Pet Shop.
Dylan and Jason collected all the animals and put them in the fences.
Claire tried out Julie's sweet Moby Sling.
Dylan loved growling at Liesel...she didn't love it so much, ha, ha. He is really so good with his little brother...too cute!
Heidi, Claire and Liesel with her post-pony 'do.
My brother Pete came over after work on Friday. It was so fun to see him!
Heidi and Brandon
Julie, Brandon and Claire (Can you tell we're all related?)
Parker, "Uncle Pebo" and Alison. Ali kept trying to tickle Pete. He's really such a good sport with all his crazy nieces and nephews.
Jas and "Pebo"
Liesel showed off her walking skills.
Parker had so much fun dropping parachutes and "Twirly Birds" down the stairs.
Here is a little video of Heidi and Parker taking turns dropping and catching a "twirly bird". (They really caught it most of the time, but missed in the video. Also, you can appreciate Liesel's new found stair-descending abilities.
They boys liked watching their cousins' new bunny: Sugar Bun Bun.
Uncle Scott held Sugar so Jason could pet her.
Liesel and Pete
All of the kids playing before we left late Saturday morning. It was a really brief trip, but I'm glad we were able to go.
All of the cousins: Jason, Alison, Heidi, Brandon, Parker, Liesel and Dylan
Thanks for a great time!
