First Grade

Parker started school on August 22. I was still in the hospital, so my mom had come up to stay at out house with the kids.  Daddy was the one to send Parker off to his first day of first grade.  Brad doesn't like taking photos, but was a good sport to take some for me so I could see my big first grader!
We live less than a half a mile from the school, but we are lucky to have a portion of the way there that doesn't have a sidewalk on a busy road, so the kids in our neighborhood get to ride the bus... for about a minute in a half, ha, ha!
Parker actually has two teachers this year.  He is in a Spanish immersion program.  In the morning he learns reading and other subjects in English from Mrs. Palmer and the second half of the day he heads to Mrs. Garduño for Spanish.  He's learning math and science and Spanish vocabulary.  Now that he's been in school 3 1/2 weeks, he knows the Spanish words for all the colors, numbers 1-20 and a handful of other words.
