Grandma Pratt had given us a bag of Easter eggs. Each one contained something that reminds us of the Savior's atonement, along with accompanying scriptures from the Bible. I used pictures of Christ from my Primary manual as additional visual aids. Parker loved it! Afterwards we watched The Lamb of God
about the death and resurrection of Christ. Parker was rather stressed about the people's "bad choices" in hurting the Savior, but he was able to stay focused and I think he has a little better understanding than before, even though this has been a Family Home Evening theme as well.
Then we told Parker that the Easter Bunny had come and hidden an Easter basket for him. He found it and was super-excited. Most kids would find this loot really lame, but he exclaimed, "Letters and numbers! Look, Daddy, the Easter Bunny gave me lowercase!" What a funny kid! He could hardly wait to open the package and play with all of the letter magnets.
I am so thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life, setting the example of how to serve and love others. He taught the true docterines of the gospel and organized His Church. Then He gave the Ultimate Sacrifice. He suffered for our sins that we might be forgiven of our sins if we repent. He died and on the third day, he was resurrected. It gives me great solace to know that I and my loved ones will be resurrected one day, because it means that I might once again see my grandfathers and others who have died. It is still sad that we are separated from our loved ones by death, but it isn't forever.
I am grateful for Easter Sunday to be reminded of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday!
