Fond Memories for Memorial Day

This week for family night we had a lesson on our family tree. I made this chart for Parker and Jason to help them see how we're all related. We explained that even though some of the people in our family tree have died, they are still part of our family and we'll be able to see them again someday.

We told him some memories and facts about those who had died and played a little game to see if he could remember the details about each one. Parker loved it. He said, "Lots of people love me, even the ones who died loved me!" We put the chart up by his bed and he enjoys telling us facts about each one. He even said, "This little guy (pointing to himself) loves letters and numbers and sponges. This cute little fellow (pointing to Jason) likes to eat!" He's too funny!

We spent Memorial Day visiting with family. We had a barbeque with my parents, Angie and Ben for lunch. We played t-ball, ping-pong, air hockey, pushed the kids in the swing and pulled the kids in the wagon. Mostly we just enjoyed each others company.

Later in the afternoon we went over to Brad's sister's house and had another barbeque. Eric grilled some fantastic steaks and the kids ate up the hot dogs. The kids played a great game: "Guess What I Am". Then they wrestled, had a pillow fight and were tickled by their uncles and dads. We had so much fun talking and laughing together!
