Jason is Growing Up!

My little lovebug Jason turned 18 months old last week. He is such a good-natured child. He's been going to nursery at church for a few weeks now. He loves playing with the toys and eating snacks and isn't the least bit concerned about leaving his parents. It's pretty crazy that it was a year and a half ago that he looked like this! Jason is so much fun! This kid LOVES to eat! He often eats as much as grown man. He's still only in the 25% for weight, but has jumped to the 50% for height. He has been feeding himself for quite a while, but has recently been using his spoon a lot more lately. What a messy kid! Jas is still our little thumb-sucker. We have ultrasound pictures of him with his thumb in his mouth, so I guess he came wired that way. He won't normally sit still for a whole book, but he likes to start reading them. Jason loves balls, animals and cars. His favorite thing these days, however, is babies. Whenever he sees a kid two or under he points with a smile of pure joy and says, "Baby!" He loves to look at our pictures of himself as a baby and carry them around. Jason has been talking talking up a storm lately. He says: "baby", "nana" (banana), "reh-wee" (ready), "mama", "dada", "baba" (Parker), "bah" (ball), "me", "muh" (milk), "wah-wah" (water), "dah" (dog) and several more.

He learned to say ready because Parker is like a ninja and will jump on you before your ready. We've emphasized the importance of asking someone if they're ready so much that Jason picked up on it. He'll come up to you, say, "reh-wee?" and when you say ready, he'll dive on top of you. Here's a little video of him saying "reh-wee".

Jason is our happy little angel child and has been since the beginning. (That is why we would deliberately plan to have another baby so soon.)

We are so glad Jason is in our family.
