Family Hike

Back on Saturday, June 18th, we took a family hike. We just went to the trail at Ogden Nature Center North, because it's less than ten minutes from our house. The boys (including Brad) LOVE hiking. I enjoy it too, so it's perfect.

Jason is such a cute little hiker. He jumps off all the low rocks and loves to be the leader. He's excited to do it himself, but is pretty smart about asking Daddy to hold his hand on the slippery parts. After we hiked about thirty minutes, we stopped on some rocks for dinner. Brad had brillantly decided to get us some Jimmy John's sandwiches. We also had applesauce, raisins and Gatorades.

Parker always wants to be the leader. He can go at a much faster pace than Jason can, so we made up a little game to keep him from going too fast on the way down. He would walk ahead about twenty feet and then Brad or I would call, "stop!" He would then freeze until Jason tagged him. Then the process would repeat.

One the way up Liesel zonked out. She slept until we were about one minute from the bottom of the trail. Isn't she darling?

I'm sure we'll be doing a lot more hiking this summer!
