We've been lining up all three car seats snugly in the back of our Civic for the last year and half since Liesel joined our family. We've been hoping to upgrade for a while and today we did it; we just bought a minivan! We looked around at Pilots and Highlanders and other options, but decided with four car seats, a minivan is definitely our best option. At first we looked at getting an Odessey or Sienna, but at the dealership there was a random Dodge Grand Caravan that had been traded in. We checked it out and decided we really like the design and the features. We also love the price! Rather than a Honda or Toyota that is four years old with 65,000 miles, we got a nearly new one with only 24,000 miles.
Here are the kids excitedly exploring our new minivan!
We ended up getting a "dark charcoal" 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew. Here is the view from the middle of the back row.
One of the nice features is a backup camera. That is also a touch screen for the radio/aux, etc. It has power sliding doors, a rack on top and both back rows, even the captain's chairs, easily fold flat into the floor. It has a surprising amount of kick and drives smoothly.
In September with our fourth child we'll be officially entering the "big family" category and now have the car to match!

So glad you found such a great deal! Looks like fun!
Jen, Thank you so much for contacting Wilma for me. She got in contact with me. She told me your her granddaughter so we would I guess be 2nd cousins, I think. It's fun to meet new relatives. Thank you, thank you again. And good luck with #4. It's been fun to have 4 kids, but it's gets really busy!!
Sooo jealous! I love my minivan...but mine is a lot older and less equipped than yours!
Yay! We're in the hunt for an upgrade as well. There is definitely not room in either of our cars for another car seat. I hope we can find a great deal too!!!
We made the same decision a couple of years ago. We looked at the Honda Pilot and other vans but picked the dodge for the same reason as you. We have loved it! I think they are Mom friendly more than they are kid friendly! Have a GREAT time!
