One of my past students is on the front page of the Deseret News today. The caption reads "Veronique Moses offers encouragement to 12-year-old Hamadi Ado at her home in Salt Lake City. Hamadi has bad memories of life in Kenyan refugee camps. (Laura Seitz, Deseret Morning News)"
I taught Hamadi a few years ago at Lincoln Elementary. I was teaching thir
d grade and he moved into my class a few months into the year. He was a refugee straight from Kenya and he didn't speak any English. He made great strides that year. It was fun to see his picture in the paper. Here is a picture of him with some of my other students on the last day of third grade in 2005.
